The Hohensalzburg Fortress

The Hohensalzburg Fortress, built in the year Archbishopchbishop Gebhard and extended by Archbishop Leonhard von Keutschach (1495-1519) is the largest completely-preserved castle in Central Europe.

Particularly worth seeing are the medieval prince rooms and the castle museum. Since 1892, the Hohensalzburg Fortress has been easily accessible by funicular from the Festungsgasse.
